ABOUT THE ARTIST 

I’m McKenzie, and I’m a painter based in Perth, Western Australia. I graduated from St. George’s Anglican Grammar school in 2021 and studied Fine Arts as my main course. I was selected for my artworks “Afterglow” to be represented in the 2021 Pulse Perspectives and presented in the Art Gallery of Western Australia. I was also presented in the Western Australian and the STM Magazine for my artworks. 
 

I painted and drew obsessively throughout my childhood. I always loved going to every museum when I was younger and was amazed by the artworks telling myself that one day I was going to be in this museum. When I found out the result of my year 12 artwork was going to be in the museum I was astonished. I cried tears of happiness for half the day about the news. This hard work finally paid off and I thought that maybe I could make this a living for me. 

I’m very drawn to painting emotional stories. This is why I’ve been drawn to paint weddings as it is the beginning of the family and is a life-long commitment. So what’s next?
